LIfe lately...

The weather recently has visions of pumpkin spice dancing in my head. It is August and I have had the a/c off all day with the windows open. Is this real life? I want to be outside all day long. My 2 year old is asking "mama, can we please go inside?" "NO!, it's nice out!".  

I took Mally to Chick-fil-a on Friday and decided then and there that we will now go to Chick-fil-a every Friday as a new tradition. That place is so wonderful. I'm not kidding. I went in, just she and I, and I was treated like royalty. Not to mention their salads are insane. Better than the sit-down restaurants. They brought out our drinks and our food to our table and offered up condiments,  refills and one ill fated pink balloon (we have textured ceilings...).   

  I also attempted to recreate a favorite take out pizza of ours, a chicken, bacon, spinach and artichoke pizza. I must say, it was pretty good and all of the ingredients were purchased at Aldi which helped to make it cost effective. I made this pizza crust dough in the bread machine. Then it was just alfredo sauce for the base, cooked shredded chicken, fresh spinach leaves, jarred artichoke, real bacon bits and mozzarella cheese with a little sprinkle of garlic salt.
