Friday night I decided to try my hand at grilled pizza. Let me tell you, it was a huge success. I definitely want to get a pizza peel now. I used an upside down baking sheet covered in cornmeal, which did work pretty good.
All you do is preheat your grill to medium, brush the grates with some oil, then lay your dough directly on the grate. Close the lid and wait about 2 minutes. Then check for grill marks and that the dough easily releases from the grill. Take it off the grill and flip it over and add your toppings to the grilled side. Grill for another 5-6 minutes or until your toppings cooked and cheese is all melted.
Saturday we went to the local farmers market and scored some great local fruit and veggies. Of course after you buy healthy food it's only right to go get doughnuts, right?
We ended the weekend with another favorite summer treat, froyo! Mally was blown away by all the toppings.
Here's to long summer days and fun weekends.
